Chocolate chip cookies are one of the desserts which I personally can’t say no to. I love the aroma that is spread when these cookies are baked. Crunchy cookies with coffee makes a great evening snack on a rainy evening or on a chilly winter day.
I have made these cookies without eggs and without oven with my baking setup at my gas stove.
I am a kind of obsessed with no oven baking. As it is way more economical and convenient than using the oven and the results are exactly the same as that of an oven or even better. I am sharing the detailed recipe with pictures to bake these cookies using a gas stove.

Ingredients:
- 1 Cup maida
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 3-4 tablespoons yogurt
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Note:
- To make perfect brown cookies, brown sugar should be used. I did not have that so I used the regular sugar but it tasted equally good.
- You can increase or decrease the quantity of sugar & butter according to your tastes.
- You can use milk also to knead the cookie dough.
- We do not need to knead the dough like a usual chapati dough. Just need to combine all the ingredients together to bind the dough in a cookie shape.
Recipe:
Making the baking set-up
1. Take a broad & big size kadhai and evenly spread some salt (common salt) to cover its base. Put a wired rack or a stand over it and cover the kadhai with a lid. Let it heat for 20 minutes on a low flame.
Making the cookie dough
- Take yogurt in a bowl and and 1/2 cup sugar in it. Whisk it well until the sugar dissolves.
2. Now, in a separate mixing bowl, take maida and add baking powder, baking soda.
3. Add butter in it and mix well.
4. Add 1/tablespoon vanilla essence to the flour and mix.
5. Now, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the flour mixture and mix gently.
6. Now, start adding the yogurt and sugar mixture to the dry ngredients and start kneading gently to make a dough. Do know over knead. If the dough is sticky, add a little dry flour to it.
7. Now, make small balls of the dough and gently press a little to flatten it. Arrange a parchment / butter paper in a baking tray and put the dough balls on it.
8. Now, keep put the baking tray in the pre-heated kadhai. Cover with the lid and let them bake for around 30-35 minutes on a low flame. Keep checking in between to avoid burnig. After 15 minutes, poke the cookies using a fork so that they get cooked well and become crunchy from inside.
9. After 30 minutes, turn off heat when the baking aroma starts coming out and let the cookies cool completely. Enjoy with coffee or tea or just like that.
