Gond ke laddoo are very healthy and delicious laddoos combined with desi ghee, jaggery & dry fruits which are often given to the new and feeding mothers because they need highly nutritous diet after their delivery.

After delivery a women’s body becomes very weak and loses a lot of calcium and blood and consuming these Gond ke laddoo – Edible gum laddoo – HealthyGondLaddoo help the new mothers to recover from weaknes and also help the new baby to get a good amount of mother feed.

There is also a use of raw ginger powder or saunth which when combines with jaggery helps to recover the iron deficiency which the new mothers experience during and after their delivery.

Recipe:

  1. Heat 1/4 cup of ghee in a pan and add 3/4 whole wheat flour and roast on a low flame until turns aromatic. Keep stirring occasionally to avoid burning

2. Once the flour changes the color to brown and start leaving the ghee remove it from the flame and keep aside.

3. Now, in the same pan add the rest of the ghee and shallow fry the edible gum pieces or gond on a low flame until they puff up. Keep the flame low and keep stirring.

4. Keep the puffed gum pieces in a dish and crush the puffed gum into a coarse powder using a rolling pin or a belan.

5. In a separate pan, add 1/2 cup of jaggery and cook on a low flame until it melts.

6. Add crushed gum, dry ginger powder (saunth) and whole spices powder (katlu powder) into the jaggery and mixed well.

6. Now, add roasted wheat flour the melted jaggery and mix well.

8. Further add crushed dry fruits and mix really well to make the laddoo mixture.

9. Turn of the flame and let it rest until it becomes warm enough cool enough to touch and hold. We do not need to cool it down completely.

10. Finally, when the mixture is warm take a small portion of it by applying a little ghee on your palms and make a round shape of laddoos. The Healthiest Gond ke laddoos are ready to be served and eat.
