Pizza pockets are yummy snacks filled with veggies, sweet corns and cheese. It is quite similar to what we often order at McDonald’s outlets. But, the fact is that we can easily make this at home. Despite containing the vegetables, it is quite loved by kids because it tastes very much like a pizza. It can be deep fried or baked. Here, in this recipe I have air fried it to make it a little healthier. Sharing the detailed recipe here along with the pictures.

Ingredients:
For dough:
- 2 cups flour (maida)
- salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- water to knead the dough
- 1/2 tablespoon baking soda
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
For filling:
- 1 medium sized onion (finely chopped)
- 1 medium sized tomato (finely chopped)
- 2 green chilles
- 3-4 garlic cloves (finely chopped
- 1 small sized capsicum (finely chopped)
- 1/4 cup boiled sweet corns
- 1/4 cup green peas
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 3-4 tablespoons Pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon mozzarella cheese per piece (it can be increased or decreased if you want more or less cheesy)
- Salt to taste (Salt should be added less or even can be skipped because sauces & cheese also contain sufficient salt)
Note: More vegetables like chopped carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, bell peppers, cottage cheese etc can be added as per the availability & choice.
Recipe:
To make the dough:
1. Take the flour in a mixing bowl. Add salt, oil, baking powder & baking soda and mix well.
2. Add water and knead a semi-soft dough. Keep aside and let it rest for 10 minutes.
To make the filling:
1. Heat the oil in a pan and add garlic, green chillies and onions. Sauté well.
2. Add tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes until tomatoes turn soft.
3. Add sweet corns, capsicums & green peas and stir.
4. Sauté the vegetables and add pizza sauce, tomato ketchup, salt & italian seasoning. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes. Turn off the heat. The stuffing is now ready.
To make the pizza puffs:
1. Take a big ball sized dough and dust it with flour.
2. Roll it flat using a rolling pin. Keep it a little thick.
3. Cut the edges from all the sides to give it a square like shape as shown in the picture.
4. Make one more vertical slit to divide the flattened dough into two rectangles.
5. Keep the filling on one base, top it with mozzarella cheese.
5. Cover the filling with other flattened dough. Apply a little water on all the edges and seal it using a fork.
6. Now, deep fry or air fry the puffs (for air frying, grease the puffs with a little oil from both the sides) until they turn golden brown.
7. Yummy Pizza pockets or Pizza McPuffs are ready to be served with tomato ketchup or any cheesy dip.
