What is Aam Panna?
It is a Summer drink or summer cooler which is made with raw mangoes. It has tangy, sweet sour taste and a lot of flavours like mint, cumin powder, chaat masala etc.
This drink is super refreshinga and very easy and quick to make. Aam Panna is a perfect treat for summers to keep our body hydrated, cool and refreshed. It is full of nutrients like vitamin A and C and protects us from sunstroke.
It can be made either by boiling or roasting the mangoes. We can make a concentrate of raw mangoes and store in the refrigerator for around 2-3 months. Whenever we want to have something cool and refreshing,we can mix the concentrate with chilled water and ice cubes and we can get an instant energy .
During childhood my mother used to make it throughout the summers and gave us whenever we came back from school in the scorching heat.
This drink has a lot of childhood memories of mine which are to be cherished. 😊
In the current time when we need time build our immunity and the health experts are suggesting for a good amount of Vitamin C intake, this drinks can be a very good option. Whenever kids go out to play, just give it glass of Aam Panna and it will protect them from sun stroke.
We can add a lot of mint leaves, lemon juice, jal jeera powder and other flavors to enhance the taste.
To make this we boil the raw mangoes or “kairi”, peel it and blend it to make pulp. We can add sugar jaggery or honey as per our choice. Add flavors of our choice, water and some ice cubes and it is ready.

Ingredients for Kachche Aam ka Panna
- 2 raw mangoes
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon chaat masala
- some fresh mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
- black salt to taste
- 2 glasses water
Recipe for Kachche Aam ka Panna
- Boil raw mangoes in a pressure cooker for 3 whistles
- Turn off the heat and let them cool down.
- Remove the peels.
- Remove the pulp and discard the seed.
- Blend the pulp to make a smooth paste.
- Add crushed min leaves, chaat masala, black salt, roasted cumin powder and mix every thing together.
- Add 2 glasses of chilled water and mix.
- Add ice cubes in a glass and some whole mint leaves.
- Pour prepared Aam Panna and serve chilled.
