Ingredients:
- 2 cups sweet corns
- 2 cups water
- 4-5 tablespoons corn flour
- 2 tablespoons maida
- 1/2 tablespoon black pepper powder (kaali mirch powder)
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tablespoon chaat masala
- Lemon juice (as per taste)
- 1/2 tablespoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 tablepoon cumin powder (jeera powder)
- 1 medium sized onion (chopped finely)
- fresh corainder or spring onions (to garnish)
- Oil to fry
- 1/2 tablespoon italian seasoning
- Chilli flakes (optional)
Notes:
- I have shallow fried the corns. You can deep fry or even bake it with a little oil.
- It will be better to consume the corns hot because they will lose their crunchiness when cool down and won’t remain “Crispy corns” anymore.😊
- I have used frozen sweet corns, hence I have not boiled it because they are already a kind of bolied before freezing. I have just blanched it for 2-3 minutes in a water & salt. You can use the fresh American corn kernels, de-seed them and boil them.
- Corn kernels have to be coated uniformly with corn flour mixture.
- While frying the corn kernels, you have to be careful as the corns pop a lot and the hot oil can splash on to you.
- You can also use rice flour to make the coating mixture to enhance the crunchiness.
- Try not to skip the lemon juice, as it gives a great tanginess and flavor to it.
